Geeze. Sorry for the long delay in trying to update this darn thing. It’s been really busy lately with this fluctuating schedule.

Things have been pretty much the same here. Trying to get to the hospital as much as possible to volunteer for awhile to relieve some of the stress that occurs throughout the day. Primarily working medevacs.

Also, I kept with current tradition and ran in the Susan G Koman breast cancer run (or otherwise known here in Iraq, Save the TaTas Run) in memory of my Grandma. It was very motivational and it was nice to see all the troops out there for the support.

Below are some recent pictures.

Well, looks like I’ll be having a minor surgery in the desert. I have a mucosele in my mouth. So a local anesthetic and a nice blade to cut it out.

Check out these pictures for the procedure (not for the faint of heart):

Marathons are for wussies

Ever wish to run a marathon? I have, and a few 1/2 marathons, so I know the disgusting pain of training and finishing one. Now how about 2 a day for more than 3 months in blistering desert heat? Well this is just a cheap shot to your self-esteem isn’t it?

Three ultra-endurance athletes have just done something most would consider insane: They ran the equivalent of two marathons a day for 111 days to become the first modern runners to cross the Sahara Desert’s grueling 4,000 miles.

This makes a normal marathon look like sleeping on a park bench.

a last word please...

For those who fight for it Freedom has a taste the protected will never know.

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dream with open eyes, to make it possible.
Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Lawrence of Arabia

Better pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of some passion, than fade and wither dismally with age.
