Memorial Day 2008

A nation that does not honor its Heroes is one not worth dying for.

Non nobis solum nati sumus

Today is a solemn (and joyful day) to remember the service men and women who have died in defense of our Constitution and way of life. Over 650,000 men and women have paid the ultimate sacrifice since World War I. We owe them a priceless sum, not in value, but one of gratitude and honor.

Reflection

It’s been awhile since Grandpa passed to a better place. My sister stumbled some pictures from the day of memorial.

“Foreign soil for an old Soldier laid to rest, a place in history we so kindly forget. A remembrance to those who fought on the ground which bore the blood of battle from his brothers in arms, welcome home.”

5 Day Suicide Vest wait

Reminds me of California’s ridiculous laws… 😀

I got a kick out of this one

New Iraqi Law Requires Waiting Period For Suicide Vest Purchases

There, almost.

So we finally finished the whole left-seat-right-seat thing over here with the new unit. Yay! It wasn’t too bad, a lot of shuffling around but nothing that was show stopping. We have been just counting down the days until we leave out of this place. Only a few more and we fly down south then west. Far west!

No idea what is in store for us when we get back home, will just have to wait.

So a few months, weeks, whatever… ago I was really into the 750 and decided to hold off. I decided on a new moto, the Kawi 636, a used one. It’s cheaper than spending money on a new moto and definitely easier on the insurance wallet. I reinsured the SV650, woot! So now I have something to ride when I get home.

See you guys soon.

Replacements

They are here! Yay! 😀

10 more days…. yes T-E-N!

California sun here I come!

a last word please...

For those who fight for it Freedom has a taste the protected will never know.

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dream with open eyes, to make it possible.
Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Lawrence of Arabia

Better pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of some passion, than fade and wither dismally with age.
